About Jesse Phelps, L.Ac.

Oriental Medicine came into my life at a much-needed time. My grandfather had just passed, 9/11 had just shaken up our country, my mother in law was diagnosed with breast cancer and I had a wedding planned within a month. My chronic asthma was relapsing with the cold weather, stress and grief. My primary physician prescribed corticosteroids when my albuterol inhaler was no longer working. I knew I didn’t want to take the medication but options seemed slim. I was studying Kinesiology (exercise therapy) in undergrad and decided to try Oriental Medicine. I was treated with acupuncture and Chinese herbs and to my surprise was able to taper off the meds and greatly improve my condition. Not only that but O.M. theory explained many aspects of my condition that no one could before. For example, grief is the emotion that affects the lung organ and pulmonary disease is worsened by cold-dry weather and stress. After my wedding I enrolled at Emperors college and have since dedicated my life to helping others

Jesse Phelps uses a unique combination of Western science and Eastern medical therapies. Jesse Phelps is a Board certified licensed acupuncturist in the state of California. He holds a Masters degree in Traditional Oriental Medicine and a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology. In addition to his acupuncture clinical training he has studied western orthopedic assessment and sports medicine extensively. He is Board eligible for the National Board of Acupuncture Orthopedics. While pursuing his education he interned and treated patients at the Venice Family Clinic. Jesse graduated, Summa Cum Laude, with top honors from Emperors College of Traditional Oriental Medicine.

He currently practices in Venice and San Pedro California. House calls are available on the Westside of Los Angeles.

When not treating patients Jesse enjoys spending time with his two young sons and wife.
